LEANE K. “LEE” POHAKU, 67, of Sidney, passed away at 12:56 A.M. Friday, October 4, 2024 at St. Rita's Medical Center. She was born on June 28, 1957 in Hilo, Hawaii, the daughter of the late Edward Pohaku and Maile (Lum Ho) Pohaku.
On December 5, 2016 she married the former Emerald “Dolly” (Kawelo), who survives her along with 11 children, Alice (Brandon) Sayles, Amber (Brian) Brown, Alicia (Eddie) Hoenie, Ammie (Taryll) Brothers, Obed Maka, Dorothy (Ikaika) Maka-Kekona, Tazz Taylor, Kasey Sayles, Che Sayles, Kehau Sayles, and Choicie Davis; 21 grandchildren; Taysha-lynn, Trinity, Palanakonu, Richard, Kaiulani, Hokulani, Pomai, Anessia, Taryana-lynn, Amariya, Taryll Jr., Joshua, Emeryald, Kainalu, Kahiwa, Kaena, Tazz Jr., Kalea, Kahea, Law, and Austin; 2 great-grandchildren, Kaimana, and Makoa; and special niece, Kim Sale and kids. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Zylan and Kuuipo; and 2 sisters.
Lee family was the world to her. Any reason was a good reason to visit with those she loved the most, and she especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There will be a service to celebrate Lee's life on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at 11 A.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
