Laurie McDonald

Laurie McDonald age 63 years of age, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She grew up in a small farming community in northeast Ohio. As a farm kid she learned the value of honesty and hard work. We were dedicated to the farm 24/7. Laurie earned a college degree in Art from Bluffton College. Spent a year on a MFA from Kent State University. Moved to Canton, Ohio to work in the print trade. Started out as an apprentice to become a journeyman printer. Worked for over 18 years for several printers in the trade. Then transitioned to a trade school to learn small engine repair, motorcycle and diesel. Finishing her career in RV parts. Over that time, she married Jeff McDonald. Married for 31 years. A fellow coworker, friend, confidant, companion but her biggest cheerleader and co-conspirator, gypsy soul and hand holder. Together we chased jobs, travelled, challenged and trusted our skills. We were a team. We had adventures, we laughed, loved and cried together. Our goals were to travel yearly to the Sweet Sixteen Men's NCAA basketball tournament. Crazy driving trips then cruises. The only regret was working so hard, not playing harder, being more spontaneous, frivolous rather than save for retirement. She is preceded in death by her parents, in-laws William and Judy McDonald and stepfather Richard Washburn. She is survived by her aunt Carolyn Jacquet.
