Laura Marie Velazco

LAURA MARIE VELAZCO, 40, of Port Jefferson, passed away at 9:40 P.M. Thursday, June 19, 2025 at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. She was born on February 19, 1985 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, the daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Velazco.

Laura is survived by her devoted companion of over 20 years, Jason Arnett of Port Jefferson; her brother, David Velazco of Orlando, FL; and her cherished dog, Bella. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Anderson, and by her beloved dog, Lilly, with whom she shared a deep bond.

A graduate of Christian Academy High School, Laura was a faithful member of Solid Rock Church in Sidney. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was grocery shopping or browsing the aisles of Wal-Mart. Laura held dear the memories of her childhood adventures, especially family trips to Disney World and a visit to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, where she had the memorable experience of meeting Dolly Parton.

Laura was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
