LARRY JOE ALEXANDER, 81, of Sidney passed away Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 9:52 AM at his residence. He was born on November 16, 1942 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Bernice (Bertsch) Alexander. On June 15, 1973, Larry married the former Diane Zimpher, who survives.
He is survived by brother, Jerry Alexander of Sidney, sister, Patsy Pestke of Sidney; many nieces and nephews and best friend, Roy Huelskamp.
Mr. Alexander worked as a Farmer for many years until he passed. Larry also retired from Sidney Truck as a truck driver for over 32 years. He was a Mason of the Stokes Lodge #305 in Port Jefferson and was a lifetime member of the NRA. Larry was also a former zoning officer for Perry Township for over 30 years. He enjoyed riding and traveling on his motorcycle especially trips to Sturgis South Dakota or Utah. Larry was a member of Sidney First Methodist Church for over 25 years and Pemberton Baptist Church for over 20 years.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday July 19, 2024 at 10 AM at Cedar Point Cemetery with Pastor Bev Hurlburt officiating. Immediately following the Graveside Service, a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Red Barn 8846 N. Hetzler Rd Piqua, OH 45356. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shelby County Sheriff’s Office 555 Gearhart Rd Sidney, OH 45365 or the Shelby County Animal Shelter 610 Gearhart Rd Sidney, OH 45365 in Larry’s memory.
