JUNE A. BARHORST, 90, of Sidney, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at her residence. She was born on August 20, 1934 in Quincy, Ohio, the daughter of the late William Clarence and Goldie (Boyer) Peacock. On October 14, 1961 she married Walter Barhorst who preceded her in death on November 25, 2007.
June is survived by three children, David (Cheryl) Clem of Port Jefferson, Nancy (Chris) Besecker of Covington, Mark (Amy) Barhorst of Troy; two stepchildren, Dennis (Cindy) Barhorst of Winder, GA, Darla McMiller of Dallas, TX; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Christian Barhorst; stepson, Doug Barhorst; and brother, Eldon Peacock.
June spent much of her career in the medical field in various clerical roles. A gifted musician from a young age, she was an accomplished classical pianist, organist, and talented vocalist. June was a member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Anna for 55 years. She was a wonderful cook who took joy in preparing meals for her loved ones. Outgoing and sociable, June never met a stranger, whether at church or a restaurant, she always found someone to chat with on the way out. She cherished time with her husband, especially their regular outings to eat, and had a deep love for her cats. Above all, June was devoted to her family, who will miss her dearly.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Condolences may be expressed to June’s family at, www.cromesfh.com
