Joyce Lupien Obituary

Joyce Moore Bunker Lupien, 76, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 9, 2025 at her home in La Grange, Kentucky.  Born on May 3, 1948, in Sidney, Ohio, Joyce was the daughter of the late Forest Moore and Lucille (Schaeffer) Moore.

A 1966 graduate of Sidney High School, Joyce attended Bluffton College. In 1971, she married Michael Bunker and spent the following years raising their three children in Maplewood, Ohio. During these years, Joyce was a fixture at every Jackson Center High School event, never missing a game/concert/play/ceremony. She could often be heard in the crowds enthusiastically cheering on her kids and their classmates. Joyce also spent many years employed at Henschen Industrial, Lynn’s Stamp News, and Dorothy Love Retirement Home.

Joyce married David Lupien in 2000 and together they spent many loving years in Troy, Ohio and later in the Louisville, KY area. Always near her grandchildren and now cheering at their school and sports events, she also cheered on her Buckeyes and her newly adopted University of Louisville sports teams. Joyce also enjoyed attending car shows with Dave in his 1934 Chevy and in their 1955 Chevy and 2002 C5 Corvette. She even enjoyed riding with their Corvette Club through the famed Dragon’s Tail, much to the surprise of her family.

In her later years, Joyce cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. They were everything to her, never missing an opportunity to gather the families together. She found great joy in bringing smiles to her grandchildren and sharing laughs with her family. She will forever be remembered for her fierce loyalty to family and friends, her ornery sense of humor, and her ever-present laugh.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert (Sherry) Moore. She is survived by her loving family: husband Dave Lupien; sister Carol (Frank) Gilardi; daughters Christine (Roy Goudy) Bunker and Stacey (Tim Conway) Bunker; son David (Celina) Bunker; grandchildren: Riley, Audrey, and Mae Hammond; Jackson, Mason, Carson, Samuel, and Emilie Bunker; Liam, Naomi, and Colin Miller; and step-sons David (Natalie) Lupien and Robert (Nikole Dent) Lupien.
