Joseph Wayne Thompson

Joseph Wayne Thompson, age 59 of Sidney passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, at home. He was born on June 29, 1964, in Kettering, Ohio, the son of Thelma (Hulsmeyer) Thompson.

He is survived by his loving family, sons Michael (Taylor) Thompson and Matt Wiley, grandchildren Knox, Paisley, Parker, Carson, Cameron, Averi, and Michael, sister Sherri Martens and brother Chuck Thompson and many nieces and nephews. 

Joe loved nothing more than his grandchildren. Being called "papaw" meant everything to him. He loved to watch his grandchildren play sports and spoil them every chance he got. He knew no strangers and saw the good in everyone. If you seen him out, he likely had a newspaper or lottery ticket in hand. He enjoyed visiting the bowling alley, taking walks downtown and trying new restaurants. He was an avid Reds, Bengals and Buckeyes fan. 

Joe will be missed by so many, especially his grandchildren. He is now peacefully resting in heaven with his favorite pet dog, Pockets.
