Joseph G Strunk

JOSEPH GARRY ERNEST CLIFFORD JUNIOR STRUNK, 68, of Sidney passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at 8:32 AM at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on December 19, 1952 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Ernest and Opal (Keith) Strunk. On July 24, 1971, Joseph married the former Sheila Davis, his high school sweetheart in which they would have been married 50 years this year.

He is survived by two children, Joey (Amy Vanderhorst) Strunk and Amanda (Steve Brautigam) Strunk both of Sidney; eight grandchildren, Devin (Malinda) Strunk, Ashli (Chris) Ike, Lillian (Dustin) Fox, Kyle (Olivia) Allen, Aarron Vanderhorst, Whitney (Frank) Gonzales-Varela, Aaron and Kyle Brautigam; seven great-grandchildren, Rosalyn and Izabella Strunk, Harper Fox, Michaela and Vivian Gonzales-Varela, Isabella Vanderhorst and Josie Fox due in May; two brothers, Brian (Angela) Strunk of Sidney and Richard (Bobbi Jo) Strunk of Shelby, NC and many nieces and nephews that will miss him also. Joseph was preceded in death by sister, Wilma Strunk and brother, Larry Strunk.  

Mr. Strunk retired after many years working as a Delivery Driver for Earhart Petroleum. He also worked as a salesman and a plant manager. Joseph was a member of the Eagles, National Rifle Association and competed in Bassmasters competitions. He loved fishing, camping, spending time with family and playing with his grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday March 25, 2021 at 1 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney with Pastor John Young officiating.
