Jon J. Allison

Jon J. Allison, of Sidney passed away peacefully at Piqua Manor on September 12, 2024, in Piqua, Ohio at the age of 86. Jon was born June 23, 1938, in Sidney, Ohio to Nell and Harold Allison.

Jon is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth (Libby) married for 62 years, son Dean and wife Cari, their children Cade, Madison and her Husband Ryan and daughter Josie.  He is also survived by his daughter Dana, her husband Donnie, and their daughters Allison and Sophia. Additionally, Jon leaves behind his grandson Noah and his wife Kaitlyn, and their four children Everett, Amora, Alias, and Kynleigh. Jon was preceded in death by his beloved mother Nell and father Harold, his brothers Darrell and Tim, his late son Duane (Red), and his late daughter-in-law Cheri. 

He graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Biology and Geology. He married Elizabeth, his high school sweetheart in 1962. Jon then began working for Sidney City School, as an earth science teacher for many years. Jon then started up Allison's outdoor shop in his garage while teaching. Jon soon retired from teaching to build the jewelry store and made it a full-time business. Jon had made Allison's a family business that has been open for over 40 years.

A private funeral has been scheduled for Tuesday September 17, 2024.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to the family for a memorial tree/bench to be planted at one of City of Sidney Parks in honor of Jon's memory. Jon was a loving father and friend to all.  His love for the outdoors brought many hunting trips and stories of his adventures will live on in our memories.
