John Fredrick Andrews

JOHN FREDRICK ANDREWS, age 79 of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 11:22 AM at his home. He was born on August 25, 1946, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Floyd “Slim” and Virginia “Ginny” (Corbin) Andrews.

On June 8, 1968, John married Judith “Judy” (Kelly) who survives along with their three daughters: Kelly Knouff of Anna, Dawn (Luke) Clark, and Michelle (Mike) Dill both of Sidney, one brother, James (Lorraine) Andrews of Wilmington, DE, 12 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son-in-law, Chris Knouff.

John was a graduate of Fairlawn High School Class of 1964. He served his country in the US Army from 1966 to 1967. Following his time in the service, he became a certified journeyman and worked for General Dynamics Tank Plant in Lima, OH. In addition to his time at the tank plant, he also worked as a farmer. He was an avid car collector and enthusiast where he made numerous friends over the years. He was the best husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be dearly missed.

John was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM with Fr. John W. Tonkin officiating. Burial with Military Honors presented by the Sidney Veterans Honor Guard and US Army will follow at Plattsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 19th from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
