Joann A. Free

JOANN A. FREE, 93, of Sidney, passed away at 8:40 A.M. Thursday, December 1, 2022 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. She was born on October 14, 1929 in Shelby County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Fred and Viola (Valentine) Bodenmiller. On August 29, 1948 she married Russell S. Free, who preceded her in death on March 10, 1998.

Joann is survived by two children, Michael (Marilyn) Free of Anna, and Jean Zimpfer of Botkins; 10 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Don (Carolyn) Bodenmiller; two sisters, Francis Fridley, and Maxine Bowden; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Richard Free; one grandson, Matt Zimpfer; five brothers, and five sisters.

Joann worked for Stolle Corp. for 26 years, retiring in 1996. She was a lifelong member of Pasco United Methodist Church. In years past she enjoyed bowling. She also enjoyed going to sprint car races and camping with her husband and children. Her greatest joy was her closeknit family. She doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved attending their various sporting events and activities. Joann was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday from 4 to 6 P.M. Condolences may be expressed to the Free family at, www.cromesfh.com
