Jerry Livingston McCullough

JERRY LIVINGSTON MCCULLOUGH, 68, of Sidney, died on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at his home. He was born on February 20, 1958 in St. Marys, Ohio. On November 18, 1978 he married Linda Bensman in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in McCartyville, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his son, Daniel.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Tracy (Marcus) Bertin of Plain City and their children, Gabe, Lucas and Nick; siblings, Jody (Mel) Marx, and Jeff (Cheryl) McCullough; mother-in-law, Constance Bensman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dave (Wanda) Bensman, Steve (Cindy) Bensman, Joyce Brower, Mike (Martha) Bensman, Greg (Kelly) Bensman, Dale (Brenda) Bensman, and Angie (Scott) Cates. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Barbara (Egbert) McCullough; and father-in-law, Leonard Bensman.

Jerry grew up on a farm in Botkins, Ohio, where he graduated from high school in 1976. He fondly remembered showing hogs at the fair through FFA. Farming brought him joy from the time he was a teenager, and he continued row-crop farming throughout his life.

Over the years, Jerry wore many hats, exploring a variety of jobs that fit alongside his farming schedule, including plumbing, car sales, real estate, fuel oil delivery, and general handyman work. He was an avid basketball fan and was particularly fond of the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Jerry enjoyed golfing, visiting with and helping family and friends, and traveling around the country. He especially loved spending time with his daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids, and always enjoyed hearing about their activities and accomplishments.

Jerry was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in McCartyville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at Loramie Valley Cemetery in Botkins. The family will receive friends at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 7 P.M., and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:15 A.M.
