Jerry Lee Fogt

Jerry Lee Fogt, 84, passed from this world on Thursday, January 7, 2021, in Sandy Spring, Maryland.

Born December 12, 1936 on the Fogt farm south of Botkins, to Donald E. and Edna Kies Fogt, Jerry is survived by sister Kay  and brother-in-law Tom Egbert of Circleville, brother Neil Fogt of Denver and two nieces, Elizabeth and Melinda Egbert of Columbus. 

Jerry graduated Botkins High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1954 where he played baseball and basketball.  He went on to graduate from the Ohio State University, the University of Minnesota and taught at the University of Maryland.  He worked for more than 30 years at UPS, as a driver and union steward. Jerry spent time with his friends, watching sports, enjoying food and a good cigar.   He never stopped exploring the world and how things worked.
