JANICE E. ASHWORTH, 78, of Sidney passed away at 11 P.M. Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Momentous Heath. She was born on November 16, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Walter and Louise (Adkins) Fritz.
Janice is survived by three children, James (Maria) Swigart of Sidney, Dawn (Paul) Palser of Troy, and Eugene Ashworth; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one brother, Danny Fritz.
Janice spent her life working in customer service, holding various roles throughout her career. She began as a mail carrier for Hobart in Troy, then worked as a waitress at Camp Troy/Summers Inn. She later became a cashier, working at Save-A-Lot in Sidney, and then at Moto Mart and Starfire Gas Station in Troy.
Janice was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed regularly watching Charles Stanley’s television program. She was also a CB radio enthusiast, known by her handle “Freedom,” and loved chatting with truck drivers.
Janice had a passion for crafts and hobbies, including crocheting, leatherwork, picking wildflowers and berries, cooking, baking, canning, and making candy. She was known for her quick wit and loved to make people laugh. Above all, Janice cherished her family and treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
