James "Jim" M. Freisthler

JAMES "JIM" M. FREISTHLER, age 68 of Sidney, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022 at 11:09 PM at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on September 4, 1954 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Gene and Betty (Daniels) Freisthler. On August 10, 1974 he married Suzann J. Brown who preceded him October 10, 2021.

He is survived by three children; Laura (Brad) Bernard of Beavercreek, Todd (Erica) Freisthler of Woodstock, GA, and Ryan (Lauren) Freisthler of Sidney, daughter-in-law, Nicole Freisthler of Anna, one brother, Donald (Rhonda) Freisthler of Botkins, and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Craig Freisthler, and three brothers; Tom, Ray, and Robert Freisthler.

Mr. Freisthler was a Botkins High School graduate, class of 1972, and received his associates degree from Miami Jacobs Career College. He was a former accountant and later worked for Job and Family Services in the job center as an Employment and Family Services Specialist.

Jim enjoyed gardening, decorating for the holidays, playing cards with friends and spending time with his family. He was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 10:30 AM at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fr. Andrew Reckers officiating. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Botkins. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 to 7 PM and Saturday from 9:30 to 10 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
