James "Jim" Franklin Fleming

JAMES FRANKLIN “JIM” FLEMING, 87, of Sidney, passed away peacefully at 5:44 P.M. Friday, February 21, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton surrounded by his family. He was born on February 9, 1938 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Francis and Mabel (Carey) Fleming.

On June 1, 1961 he married the former Darlene Goshorn, who survives along with four children, Kathy Fleming of Sidney, Kelly (Tim) Allen of DeGraff, Brian Fleming, and Quentin Fleming, both of Sidney; ten grandchildren, Meghan and Rachael Fleming, Mathew and Adam Juarez, Amanda, Aambur, and Adrian Cotterman, Shannon, Devin, and Derrick Fleming; and one brother, Sherman Fleming. He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Tammie Fleming; and siblings, Charles Fleming, Mary Warfield, Kenneth Fleming, John Fleming, and Blanche Ware.

Jim retired from Stolle Corporation, where he served as a supervisor for many years. In his earlier years, he found joy in work, hunting, fishing, and camping; activities that brought him great happiness. Later in life, his focus shifted to family, cherishing the time spent with loved ones. Jim and his wife played a special role in raising two of their grandchildren as their own, after the tragic loss of their mother, providing unwavering love and support. He especially enjoyed sitting on his back deck, engaging in conversations and creating lasting memories with those closest to him. Jim will be profoundly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 27 at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with David Fleming officiating.
