JACOB "JAKE" ALFRED DUNAWAY SR., 85, of Okeechobee, FL formerly of Sidney passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 at his residence. He was born on March 27, 1935 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of the late Bruce and Hazel (Scamyhorn) Dunaway. On May 7, 1954, Jake married the former Dolores Jean O'Dell, who preceded him in death November 19, 2011.
He is survived by two children, Jacob Alfred (Patricia Jean) Dunaway Jr. of High Bridge, NJ and Bruce Eugene (Roberta) Dunaway of Piqua; four grandchildren, Kyle, Luke, Rebecca and Jessica and One great-grandchild, Hunter. Jake was preceded in death by eight siblings.
Mr. Dunaway retired from Ross Aluminum Avon Division as a Plant Manager. He was a member of the Masons, York Rite, Scottish Rite and other Masonic bodies. Jake was the Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, 32nd degree Mason in the Valley of Dayton, Sovern Master of the Allied Masonic Degrees and a Knight of the York Cross of Honor.
A Masonic Services will be held Monday January 11, 2021 at 12 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio.
