Jacob Alvin Bertsch Jr.

JACOB ALVIN BERTSCH JR., 72 of Sidney, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 1:13 PM at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County in Troy. He was born on January 26, 1954, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Jacob A. Sr. and Joann (Schaub) Bertsch.

On September 6, 1983, Al married Mary (Roesser) who survives along with two children: Kris Bertsch of Sidney, and Kara (Ian) Stiver of Florida, and two sisters: Barb Bertsch, and Joyce Bertsch both of Sidney. He was preceded in death by son, Matthew Jacob Bertsch.

As a child, Al attended Anna Local Schools and St. Jacob Lutheran Church. He became the owner/operator of Al’s Pizza serving the community for 43 years prior to his retirement in 2023. He was a member of Shelby County Deer Hunters, and Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Al loved fishing, riding Harleys, music, camping, and spending time with his family, and was a man always ready to help others.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco with Joe McMillen officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
