JACKIE KARLAN EMERSON PARSLEY, 73 of Sidney, passed away Friday, March 13, 2026, at 4:17 AM at Kettering Health Dayton. He was born on July 2, 1952, in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late Jack and Nancy (Beverly) Parsley.
On July 12, 2011, Jackie married his longtime sweetheart, Diane (DeBorde) who survives along with three children: John Parsley (Amber Latimer) of Sidney, Monica Parsley of Columbus, and Annette Amburgy of Sidney, brother, Derrick Parsley, sister, Terry Parsley, half-siblings: Litty Winkle, Teddy Parsley, and Gerome Parsley, 18 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, Jackie Parsley, and brother, Torriano Parsley.
Jackie was a graduate of Springfield High School and served his country in the US Army. He worked for many years for ODOT in Sidney in the bridge and culvert division, as well as driving plow trucks in the winter season. He enjoyed fishing, watching movies, and was an avid fan of music, playing lead drummer in the band, Crushin Blue. Above all he loved his family, especially his grandkids, and cherished his time spent with them. He will be dearly missed.
Funeral Services for Jackie will be held Friday, March 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
