JACK KIMMEL STAYTON, 93, of Sidney, died November 21, 2021 at 2:30 PM, after a brief illness. Jack was born on June 28, 1928 in Eldorado, Ohio, the son of the late Charles V. and Lura (Kimmel) Stayton. In July 1950, Jack married the former Phoebe Ann Turner, who survives.
He is also survived by son Kevin Stayton of Brooklyn, NY; grandchild, Taylor (Katrinka) Stayton and sister, June Swihart of Eldorado. Jack was preceded in death by son, Stanley Stayton.
Mr. Stayton graduated from Ohio State University, moved to Sidney and began working for Monarch Machine & Tool in 1950. He remained there for his entire working career before retiring in 1990. After his retirement he had the time to pursue his interest in woodworking and carpentry, making furniture and doing volunteer work for Habitat for Humanity, and to devote more time to the Masonic Temperance Lodge #78 in Sidney. Jack was a member of the Sidney First United Methodist Church for many years. His wry humor and generosity was enjoyed by family and friends and will be missed.
Funeral Services will be held Friday November 26, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney with Rev. Dr. David Chivington officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio. Friends may visit 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
