Iva Dean (Wilson) Moses

IVA D. (WILSON) MOSES, AGE 88, of Sidney, passed away at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. She was born March 5, 1935 in Keno, Kentucky. Iva was the oldest of 4 children born to the late Delbert and Louise (Bolin) Wilson. On August 2, 1958, Iva married Verlin Moses.

Verlin survives along with their son Mark Moses of Sidney. Iva is survived by one sister, Faye of Whiley City, KY, one brother, Rev. Jerry (Jean) Wilson of Piqua, sister in laws, Marlene Layne of Piqua, Mildred (Jerry) Kinder of Wolf Creek, KY and Diane (Earl) Hill of Piqua and numerous nieces and nephews. Iva was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Wilson and several brother and sister in laws.

Iva retired from American Trim in 1998 after 30 years of service. Then Iva retired from Wal-Mart after 15 years of service in 2015, where she was a greeter in which she really enjoyed. She said, “I finally get paid for doing something I enjoy, talking.” Iva never knew a stranger. She would flash her million dollar smile then start talking. Iva also enjoyed planting and watering her flowers, and again talking to them as well. Iva was a member of Crossroad Church of God since July 11, 1958 where she enjoyed singing, and praying with others at the altar, where if Iva was praying over you, you were not finished until the Holy Ghost told Iva you finished.

Iva was known as a “prayer warrior,’ someone you could go to and ask her to pray for you. You knew Iva would get and answer from God. Iva loved being in church, from as a child walking to church throughout her adult life. She loved singing, and praising and worshiping Jesus, and serving God for over 75 years. Iva will be greatly missed by her husband and son, and family and friends. Our loss is heaven’s gain.  Well done, good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your lord. Matt 25:23

Family and friends may visit Crossroad Church of God 9330 Looney Rd Piqua, OH 45356 Thursday November 2, 2023 from 4 PM until 7 PM. Funeral Services will be held Friday November 3, 2023 at 11 AM at Crossroad Church of God with Rev. Greg Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco, OH.  Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association in Iva’s memory.
