Herbert "Short" Wildermuth

HERBERT "SHORT" G. WILDERMUTH, 88, of Sidney, passed away at 7:09 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. He was born on May 2, 1929 in Maplewood, Ohio, the son of the late Clarence and Ethel (Pence) Wildermuth. On September 15, 1948 he married Naomi Steenrod and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2016.

Herbert is survived by his son, Steven (Jodie) Wildermuth of Sidney; four grandchildren; Amy Sue Peltier of Celina, Angie Rogers of Sidney, Karen (Chad) Monnier of Russia and Kyle (Angie) Wildermuth of Anna; seven great-grandchildren; Kylie Jo, Ethan, Abe, Evan, Gabe, Lauren and Cayle, one great-great-grandson, Cruze, one sister, Carol Cromes of Jackson Center, in-laws; Sara Regula, Janice Burch, Larry (Jean) Steenrod and Jerry (Barb) Steenrod.

Herbert was preceded in death by one son, William Gene Wildermuth, his twin brother, Herman Wildermuth, who died at birth, three other brothers; Robert, Clarence and Hugh Wildermuth, sister-in-law, Eileen Wildermuth, brother-in-law, William Cromes, in-laws; Kenny Regula, Bob Steenrod, Dick Burch, Donald (Jean) Steenrod and Carol Ann Steenrod.

Mr. Wildermuth was retired from Super Foods and was a member of St. Jacob Lutheran Church in Anna. A special thanks to the Ohio Living Dorothy Love staff and Wilson Health Home Hospice for their compassion and care.              

Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave. Sidney, with Rev. David Westphal officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 AM until hour of service.
