Helen L. Wooddell, 91, of Sidney, passed away 8:14 P.M. Friday, April 3, 2026, at Fair Haven County Home. She was born on October 2, 1934, in Sidney, Ohio, to the late Sherman and Annie (Michael) Morelock. On August 30, 1952, she married Harvey Wooddell, who preceded her in death.
Helen is survived by her three children, Carl Wooddell, Dale Wooddell, and Roger (Debra) Wooddell, all of Sidney; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters-in-law, Lisa Wooddell, and Sandy Wooddell; and four siblings, Don Morelock, Erma Cotterman, Ruth Daugherty, and Martha Yinger.
Helen retired from Sidney City Schools, where she worked as a cook. She later continued working alongside her family at Woody's Market.
A 1952 graduate of Sidney High School, Helen enjoyed gardening, cooking, traveling, sewing, and fishing. She especially cherished time spent with her family and her involvement as a Lady Shriner. She was a lifelong member of First Sidney Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11 A.M. until the time of the service. Helen’s final resting place will be at Pearl Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or Sidney First Methodist Church in Helen's honor.
