Helen Mae (Wolaver) Snider

HELEN MAE SNIDER, 85 of Sidney, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 4:44 AM at Landings of Sidney. She was born on December 30, 1940, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Allen) Wolaver. She was married to Robert “Bob” L. Snider who preceded her in death May 28, 1993. After Bob, Helen met her life partner of 30 years, Clement John “Duke” Duckro who passed away November 26, 2024.

Helen is survived by one daughter, Robin Snider (John) Lough of Springfield, three grandchildren: Stephanie Smith of Piqua, Bobby (Kelli) Smith of Russia, and Mickie (Sarah) Smith of Houston, seven great-grandchildren: Ava, Tycen, Tatum Money; Oliviah and Macy Smith; Mickie Jr. and Aiden Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two siblings: Sarah Cotterman, and Charles Wolaver.

Helen was a long-standing employee of Emerson/Copeland as a fierce procurement buyer and negotiated in countries all around the world. She retired from Emerson three times in her career spanning over 40 years.

Helen loved spending time with her grandchildren and especially her great-grandchildren. She was so proud of them and enjoyed attending their sporting events and homecoming courts… it didn’t matter so long as she was there supporting the kids. She also enjoyed many years at her lake house on Norris Lake in LaFollette, Tennessee, sharing days of hard work with days of play on the water with the kids and family. She also enjoyed spending time in her flower garden, relishing the beauty of her Day Lillies and Roses, as well as traveling, going out to dinner, and watching movies.

Funeral Services for Helen will be held Friday, April 10, 2026, at 6:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Hill officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 PM until the time of service. Helen’s final place of rest will be at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney.
