Helen Jean (Broaddrick) Cox

HELEN JEAN COX, 85, of Sidney passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 7:00 AM at EverHeart Hospice Inpatient Unit in Greenville. She was born on September 1, 1935 in Franklin County, Alabama, the daughter of the late George and Ruby (Thomas) Broaddrick. On November 22, 1950, Helen married Harvel A. Cox, who preceded her in death August 22, 1989.

She is survived by two children, Janice Wagner of Port Jefferson and Marty Cox of Wapakoneta; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and five siblings, George Broaddrick, Doris Swiger, Donald Broaddrick, Kathy Korn and Bret Broaddrick. Helen was preceded in death by three children, Harvey, Terry and Debbie Cox.

Mrs. Cox retired after many years working as a Nutrition Service Driver for Fairhaven Shelby County Home. She also worked as a garment worker for over 14 years. Helen enjoyed crossword puzzles, sewing and bird watching. She was a lifetime member and Sunday school teacher of Sidney Baptist Church.

A Private Graveside Service will be held for the family at Graceland Cemetery in Sidney, Ohio with Pastor John Butts officiating. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home 302 S. Main Ave Sidney. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to Sidney Baptist Church 1322 E. Court St Sidney, OH 45365 in Helen's memory.
