Harvey JR Wooddell

HARVEY JR WOODDELL, 86, of Sidney passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at 4:26 AM at Fair Haven.
He was born on July 23, 1932 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Harvey F. and Anna (Cotterman) Wooddell. On August 30, 1952, Harvey married the former Helen Morelock, who survives.

He is survived by three children, Carl (Sandy) Wooddell, Dale Wooddell and Roger (Debra) Wooddell all of Sidney; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren and many relatives, nieces, nephews and friends that Woody enjoyed interacting with. Harvey was preceded in death by five siblings, Howard Wooddell, Hazel Preas, Ethel Lamastus, Richard Wooddell, and Ruth Michael and one daughter-in-law, Lisa Wooddell.

Mr. Wooddell was past owner of Woodys Market for many years. Harvey graduated from Sidney High School. After high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956. Harvey loved to travel, hunt, fish and drive his antique cars. For many years he served as Scout master for Troop 188. He was a member of the Shelby County Deer Hunters, Masonic Stokes Lodge #305, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and American Legion Post 217.  He enjoyed being in association with the Antioch Shrine Temple in Dayton, where he participated in local parades in his Dune Buggy and enjoyed transporting children to and from the Children's Shrine Hospital. Harvey was a lifetime member of Sidney First United Methodist Church.
 
A Memorial Service will be held Friday August 10, 2018 at 12 PM at Cromes - Edwards Funeral Home, 302 S. Main Ave Sidney with Rev. Dr. David Chivington officiating.  Friends may call from 11 AM up until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Shrine Hospital Fund or Sidney First United Methodist Church in Harvey's honor.
