HARRY MCKINLEY MITCHELL, 80, of Sidney, passed away at 3:56 P.M. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Momentous Health. He was born on January 5, 1946 in Smith County, Virginia, the son of the late John Mitchell and Ollie (Prater) Morrison.
Harry is survived by two children, Jon (Christine) Mitchell, and Sherry Baumgardner, both of Jackson Center; grandchildren, Katrina, Chloe and Krisy Baumgardner, Michael and Phoebe Schaffer, Eric and Cheritha Miller; siblings, James Mitchell of DeGraff, David Mitchell of New Jersey, George Morrison II of Sidney, Roy (Phyllis) Morrison of Idaho, Joseph (Lisa) Morrison, Robert (Tammy) Morrison, Lloyd Morrison, Cyndi (James) Cox, Linda Ostendorf, and Betty Schmidt, all six of Sidney; and nieces and nephews too numerous to count. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Harry retired from Freshway Foods in Sidney after more than ten years. A man of Christian faith, he was well known throughout the community and cherished many dear friendships.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Vickie and Charlie for their care and concern, and to Jessica, one of his many caregivers, for her kindness and support.
Harry had a tender heart and was often generous beyond his means. He never hesitated to help someone in need. He was deeply loved and will be truly missed.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 25, 2025 at 1 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Randy Reed officiating. Burial will follow Shelby Memory Gardens.
