George C. Murphy

GEORGE C. MURPHY, age 81 of Sidney, Ohio, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 4:31 PM at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy, Ohio. He was born on December 1, 1943, in Worley, Kentucky, the son of the late Bobby Lee and Ruth Ellen (Perry) Murphy.

George married Ella Mae (Clark) who survives along with his sister, Glenna Sue (Hulen Frank) Clark, and brothers: Ronnie (Jean) Murphy, and Bill (Sherry) Murphy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earnie Murphy.

George worked for 33 years at Stolle, Alcoa, and American Trim in Sidney. He was a member of the First United Baptist Church in Sidney. He loved the Lord, his family, and his Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing with family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 1:00 PM at McCreary County Funeral Home, 48 State Hwy 700, Whitley City, KY 42653. Burial will follow at Clark Cemetery in Stearns, KY.  The family will receive friends on Monday, September 29th from 11 AM-2 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home, and on Wednesday, October 1st from 11 AM until the time of service at McCreary County Funeral Home.
