George Franklin Metz

GEORGE FRANKLIN METZ, age 76 of Sidney, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at 10:17 AM at his home. He was born on March 20, 1947, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Elton E. and Leree A. (Evans) Metz.

He is survived by K-9 companion, Pedro, three children: Kenneth (Fred Horner) Metz, Gary (Sue) Metz both of Sidney, and Michelle Broaddrick of Lando Lakes, FL, 10 grandchildren: Kassidy, McKinlee, Charlotte, Connor (Kiya), Kennedy (Jenna), Brantley, Julius, Eli, Henry, and Scarlett, and two great-grandchildren, Taylynn, and Bennett.

George was a Fairlawn High School Graduate. He worked for the Highway Department for 23 years and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Sidney Loyal Order of Moose.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Kris Geise officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Point Cemetery in Pasco. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
