Gary T. Gilardi

Gary Thomas Gilardi, 71, died peacefully December 6, 2023, surrounded by family. Gary was born May 31, 1952 in Sidney Ohio to Matthew and Esther (Sherman) Gilardi. Gary is a graduate of Holy Angels (Lehman) Catholic High School.

Gary is survived by his children: Robert (Ashley) Gilardi, Anthony (Alicia) Gilardi, and Corey (Taylor) Gilardi. Grandchildren: Gabriel, Michael, Jordan, Helena, Violet, Adelaide, Margot, Penelope, Logan, Josephine, and Maxine. Siblings: Michael (Pamela) Gilardi, Debra (John) Schlater, David Gilardi, Matthew (Julie) Gilardi Jr., Daniel (Chichi) Gilardi, Mary Ann (Jeff) Liddy, and Kathleen (Kevin) Copella. Gary was preceded in death by parents Matthew and Esther (Sherman) Gilardi.

Gary grew up in a family business A.M. Gilardi and Sons Produce, Gilardi's Wholesale Fruit and Vegetables, and Gilardi's Pizza Restaurant and Grocery, with his grandfather, father, and siblings. Gary was the President and proprietor of transportation companies dating back from the late 1970s to current.

Family was Gary's priority as he spent much time with his precious grandchildren. He loved all of them, who lovingly referred to him as "Papaw". He enjoyed a round of golf whenever possible and was the first to sit at the family euchre table.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place in Gary's honor in New Smyrna Beach, FL, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, on Dec. 18, 2023 at 11 am. Friends and family may call December 18, 2023 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, from 10 am to 11 am prior to the mass. Burial will follow at Sea Pines Cemetery in Edgewater, FL.

A memorial service in Sidney, OH is pending for January 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Father's Table Foundation, 2100 E. Lake Mary Blvd., Sanford, FL 32773.
