After 71 years of spirited living, Gary Scott Combs died peacefully on March 9, 2025, with his loving wife by his side. His pain is now gone. Gary is survived by his wife, Jody Marie Combs; his ex-wife and friend Sandra Combs of Maine; his children: Matthew Para of Connecticut (wife Diana); Bethany Combs-Willey of Maine (husband Joe); Shanowa Combs of Maine, and Jesse Combs of Ohio. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Isabella Para (parents Matthew and Diana); Maxwell Willey (parents Joe and Bethany); Stella Justin (parents Hannah and Mike); Killian Combs (parents Jesse and Bridgette) and Hendrix Combs (parent Shanowa). Also his closest partner in crime, Nancy Kay Blair.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Martha Combs; his sister Mary (Blue Eyes) Wilder; his son Levi Patrick Ryan Combs and his daughter Hannah Colleen Combs.
Gary was a rock to his family. He grew up in Kentucky and later lived for many years in Florida before settling in Ohio. He worked as a land surveyor until medical issues changed his life. His love of motorcycles took him on endless adventures. He had a vast knowledge of facts and could hold a conversation with anyone. He played the guitar and sang to his children when they were young. His love of guns became his hobby. His sarcasm and jokes kept you laughing. Deep down, Gary was a teddy bear of a man that would do anything for anyone that asked. He was a wonderful, kind, caring, genuine, intelligent man that could also be a "smart ass" when the opportunity arose.
The sudden deaths of his youngest children left Gary broken-hearted and he longed to see them again. Without a doubt Gary's beloved children, Hannah and Levi greeted him with a loving embrace in a heavenly reunion. He is now at peace with them by his side.
"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
