Frederick "Doug" Douglas CaJacob

FREDERICK DOUGLAS “DOUG” CAJACOB, 84, of Sidney, passed away at 4:09 A.M. Monday, November 24, 2025 at his residence. He was born on February 21, 1941 in Lima, Ohio, the son of the late Dr. Gene and Jane (Goeke) CaJacob.

On September 4, 1976, Doug married the former Kathleen Klikovits, who survives him along with one daughter, Tiffany (Tim Palmer) Powell of Middletown; two granddaughters, Meg and Jessica Powell; one great-grandson, Nolan Powell; and his brother, Dr. Stephen CaJacob of Columbus. Doug is also survived by three nieces, and numerous in-laws whom he loved and were a big part of his life. He was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah CaJacob.

Doug was the president and owner of Sidney Design for more than 20 years, following over 25 years as president of the Wapakoneta Daily News. A man of many passions, Doug was an avid big-game fisherman, with a special love for salmon fishing on Lake Michigan. Throughout his life, he enjoyed racing both cars and go-carts, and in more recent years could often be found behind the wheel of his M4, sometimes a bit faster than he should have been.

A skilled carpenter, Doug found joy in his woodshop, crafting projects with care and precision. Above all, family was at the center of his heart. He cherished time spent together, especially during holiday gatherings. He and Kathleen also shared a love of travel, exploring the world side-by-side. Though they visited many destinations, Yellowstone remained a favorite, and together they were able to visit every National Park. Doug was deeply loved, and he will be profoundly missed.

A memorial mass will be held at Holy Angels Catholic Church on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. A graveside service will follow at Graceland Cemetery.
