It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Fredrick Lee Hosey Jr., age 61, on April 3, 2026. Born on February 7, 1965,
Fred lived a life defined by quiet strength and a generous spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. A dedicated family man, Fred worked tirelessly as a maintenance man for apartment complexes, where he took great pride in caring for the homes and residents he served. He went above and beyond every day fixing what was broken, ensuring everything ran smoothly, and always putting the needs of others first. Each winter, he could be counted on to clear snow from sidewalks and parking lots without fail, making sure families could safely go about their days. Whether at work or at home, Fred raised his own family with the same dedication, teaching them the value of hard work, kindness, and looking out for one another through his example.
A true craftsman and Jack of all trades, he possessed remarkable skills and a strong work ethic that defined him. He gave freely of his time, talents, and support often in the most practical ways that made a real difference in people’s lives. His generosity was steady and sincere, reflecting the kind of good man who put others first and left a lasting, positive impact on his family, friends, and community.
Fred will be deeply missed for the steadfast love and dependability he showed his family. Though he left us too soon, the lessons of hard work, kindness, and selflessness he embodied will continue to guide those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sons, Donald Hosey (Rachel), and Bobby Hosey; his cherished grandchildren, Cameron and Adeline Hosey; his brothers, John Mitchell Hosey of Jacksonville, Florida, and William Hosey of Germany; his sisters, Martha Elizabeth Pace Hosey of McHenry, Mississippi, and Jennifer Michelle Pico Hosey of Wiggins, Mississippi; and his mother, Ginger Glydwell of Wiggins, Mississippi.
Fredrick’s memory will live on in the stories shared, the skills passed down, and the many lives he quietly brightened. He was a good man, dependable, generous, true, and he will be remembered with deep respect and abiding love by all who knew him.
