Freda Lois Johnson, 69, of Anna, passed away unexpectedly at 8:55 P.M. on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at her residence. She was born on May 14, 1957, in Saltville, Virginia, to William Astrop and Dorothy (Compton) Browning.
Freda is survived by her mother, Dorothy Browning; three children, Tonya McReynolds of Sidney, Ohio, Angie (Tony) Berner of Wapakoneta, Ohio, and David “Shawn” (Esther) Wooten of Flower Mound, Texas. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Mason Riggs, Liam McReynolds, Kiersten (Drew) Zwiebel, Lexie Schaub, Carson and Connor Bergman, and Stella, Owen, and Ava Wooten. She was preceded in death by her father, William Astrop.
In her free time, Freda loved to tend to her flower garden. She especially loved her daisies and enjoyed working in her yard. Freda had a passion for ministering to women who were incarcerated. She was an ordained minister and had a bold faith in God. She loved to go thrifting and collect various antiques. But above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at 1 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the time of service. Condolences may be made to the family at (www.cromesfh.com).
