Frances Ellen Jones

FRANCES ELLEN JONES, 81, of Port Jefferson passed away at 9:54 A.M. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at her residence. She was born on November 6, 1942 in Washington, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Salisbury) Jones. On September 4, 1960 she married Cecil Jones, who preceded her in death on September 3, 2011.

Frances is survived by four children, Donna (Wayne) Doak of Sidney, Dennis (Connie) Jones of Hodgenville, KY, Donald (Jamie) Jones of Sidney, and Doug (Yolanda Richardson) of Quincy; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Paul Jones, Cheryl Jones, and Patricia Turney; special friends, Teresa, Crystal and kids, and Sharron; and her beloved dog, Benny. She was preceded in death by 2 sons, David Scott and Darrin Wayne Jones; 3 sisters, Donna Sue Jones, Connie Ferguson, and Gloria Watercutter; and 2 brothers, Paul Dean Jones, and Donald Jones.

Frances was retired from Stolle Corporation, and from the former Hussey’s Restaurant in Port Jefferson where she worked as a cook. Frances was a kind and giving person, always glad to take care of others who were less fortunate. She was a huge Elvis fan and enjoyed scratch-offs and playing bingo. Most of all, Frances loved her family and spending time with them. She especially adored her grand, and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 1 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Earnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cemetery.
