Evelyn Jones

EVELYN JONES, age 92 of Sidney, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 9:40 AM at her home. She was born on June 30, 1929 in Ritner, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Richard O. and Sara Jane (Abbott) Jones. On March 26, 1951 she married Alvin James Jones who preceded her in death December 17, 1991. 

Evelyn is survived by four children: Ronald (Brenda) Jones of Sidney, Thelma (Don) Gibson of Jellico, TN, Clyde (Mary Ann) Jones, and Gary (Laurie) Jones both of Sidney, 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 11 siblings, one grandson, and one great-grandson.

Mrs. Jones retired from Copeland Corporation in Sidney. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Miami County, especially to Rhonda and Beth for their love and care of Evelyn.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 12 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Earnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Miami Memorial Park in Covington. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of service.
