Ernest Earl Hageman

Ernest Earl Hageman, age 73, of Fletcher, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 6:00 AM at home. Ernie was born in Sidney, Ohio on March 18, 1949, to the late Robert Donald “Hack” Hageman and the late Betty Marie (Gundolf) Hageman.

Ernie graduated from Fairlawn High School in 1967. He was a proud FFA member. He married Mary Lou (Elsner) Hageman on March 27, 1976. They raised four daughters on their family farm in Brown Township.

Ernie is survived by Jill (Eric) Wright of Fletcher, Karen (Rob) Hart of Fletcher, Kathy Hageman, and Lottie (Jerry) Grise of Pleasant Hill. Ernie has 5 grandchildren who survive him, Lauren and Kyle Wright, Jon Hart, Gabriel and Jonah Grise. Ernie is survived by his siblings, Donna (Jim) Gross, Judy Klopfenstein, Rick Hageman, and Bill (Dawn) Hageman and many nieces and nephews. Ernie is also survived by his loyal and devoted friend Marty Rush for the last 19 years.

He was preceded in death by one brother-in-law Rick Klopfenstein and one sister-in-law Vera Hageman.

Ernie enjoyed collecting buggy wrenches from all over the country. He currently has over 26,400 hanging in his barn for display. Ernie has also accumulated over 60 International Harvester tractors. He recently acquired the “World’s Oldest Farmall-1923 Experimental IHC.” He was an active member of the Ohio Chapter 6 IHC, Shelby County Antique Power Association and the Missouri Valley Wrench Club. Over his lifetime he had many different interests such as draft horses, donkeys, ostriches, antique cars, driving horse “Amy” and his beloved racehorse “Buggy Wrench Dandy”. Ernie’s greatest enjoyment was farming.

Ernie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be missed by all who love him.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the Hageman family farm, 10820 N. St. Rt. 589, Fletcher, Ohio with Pastor Jason Egbert and Rev. Dr. David Chivington, officiating. Burial will follow at Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher, Ohio. For those wishing to participate, a tractor procession will escort Ernie to his final resting place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, 2:00 PM-7:00 PM at the Hageman family farm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Miami County, 3230 N.
