EMILY JANE GRIEVES, 96 of Botkins, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 9:55 AM at Landings of Sidney. She was born on February 20, 1930, in St. Marys, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harvey and Hazel (Keiber) King. On February 20, 1950, she married Walter W. Grieves who preceded her in death June 28, 2016.
She is survived by two children: Sonia (Ed) Heminger of Columbus, and Tom (Sandy) Grieves of Botkins, sister, Imogene (Ray) Ridenour of Van Wert, sister-in-law, Navelda King of Kissimmee, FL, nine grandchildren: Melissa (Eric) Ross, Tyler (Melinda) Grieves, Kristin (Adam) Ruppert, Veronica (Craig) Pettit, Eric (Chelbe) Heminger, Daniel (Qi) Grieves, Barb (Dmitrij) Lukjancuks, Greg (Jan) Grieves, and Alisha (Brad) Bergman, 26 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by son, Kevin Grieves, and eight siblings.
Emily was a graduate of Blume High School in Wapakoneta and earned her nursing degree from St. Rita’s. She worked as an LPN for Wilson Memorial Hospital for over 40 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Botkins. She loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s various events and activities.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Fr. Sean Wilson officiating. Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery in Buckland, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
