Eldon Cost

ELDON COST, 83, of Sidney, passed away at 11:59 A.M. Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born on December 29, 1941 in Miami County, Ohio, the son of the late Richard and Waunetta (Cavender) Cost. Eldon was first married to Julia (Davis) Cost, who preceded him in death on September 24, 2017.

On August 22, 2018 he married the former Jeanne Brown, who survives along with his three daughters, Beverly (Dave) Paxson of Versailles, Elaine (Mike) Stump of Rossburg, and Jennifer Cost of Anna, five grandchildren, Danielle Kuck, Brandon Stump, Dustin (Marissa) Stump, Avery Bumgarner, and Allison Bumgarner; one great-granddaughter, Marceline Stump; two sisters, Dorothy Lowe, and Peggy Millette; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Cost; and five brothers, Richard, Bill, Marvin, Clifford, and Rodney Cost.

Eldon dedicated over 30 years of his life to a career he truly loved, driving a truck. Following his time on the road, he worked as a dock worker for Saia for 26 years before retiring. Eldon was a member of the Moose for more than 50 years.

In his free time, he found joy in fishing, woodworking, and the companionship of his beloved dog, Parker, and his two cats, Grace and Olivia. Above all, Eldon cherished his family and valued the time spent together whenever possible.

A man of deep faith, he began each morning with a cup of coffee, a few cookies, and his Bible. He was a devoted member of New Beginnings Church in Lockington. He will be missed greatly by his family, church family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Christine Mertz officiating. Burial will follow at Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.
