Elaine Counts

ELAINE COUNTS, 76, of Sidney, passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 at Kettering Medical Center. She was born on March 24, 1947 in Piqua, Ohio, the daughter of the late John F. and Gladys (Pursell) Cartwright.

Elaine is survived by two children, John Andrew (Tammy) Counts of Maysville, KY, and Julie Renee (Brandon Unger) Counts of Sidney; one grandson, John Patrick Counts of Dublin, OH; and one sister, Joyce Cartwright of Sidney.

Elaine was a graduate of Botkins High School, class of 1965. She later graduated from the Ohio State Beauty Academy in Lima. After many years as a licensed cosmetologist, she worked as a dispatcher for the City of Sidney. Elaine was an avid Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. She enjoyed yardwork, flower gardening, feeding the birds, and the company of her dog, Bucky. Most of all, Elaine loved her family and spending time with her grandson. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 12 P.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Edmiston officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 30th from 10 A.M. until the time of service.
