Edward "Eddie" Leroy Nation

EDWARD LEROY "EDDIE" NATION, 41, of Sidney passed away at 9:36 P.M. Saturday, February 1, 2025. He was born on July 30, 1983 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Bobby Nation, and Anna (McDermitt) Nation who survives.
Also surviving Eddie are his sister, Christina Melchor, and brother, Travis Shurts.

Eddie was a graduate of Sidney High School. He proudly served as a police officer for the past 15 years, a career that fulfilled his childhood dream. A passionate Tennessee Volunteers fan, he enjoyed watching football and cheering on his team from his home in Knoxville, where he lived and worked. Eddie had a love for warm weather and often dreamed of being on a beach, always saying, “The hotter, the better.”

Family meant everything to Eddie, and his immense love and caring nature were felt by all who knew him. He was a gifted cook, always experimenting with new recipes and following them meticulously. His enthusiasm for food extended to his love of finding the perfect dishes to try next. An old soul at heart, Eddie loved Reba and older country music. He was never shy about singing his favorite tunes aloud, often encouraging those around him to join in.
Eddie's favorite movies included Urban Cowboy, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and Top Gun. He found joy in the little things—whether spending time with family, sharing a laugh, or enjoying a good meal. Eddie’s presence in the lives of his loved ones will be deeply missed, and he will forever be remembered for his kind heart and generous spirit.

Services for Eddie will be held on a later date at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton in Eddie’s memory. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at, www.cromesfh.com
