DRAMA LOIS BEY, 82, of Sidney, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at her residence. She was born on June 2, 1942 in Lick Creek, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Hubert and Pearl (Marlow) Martin. On October 21, 1960 she married Robert E. Bey, Sr. who preceded her in death on May 8, 2006.
Drama is survived by one son, Robert E. (Joyce) Bey, Jr. of Sidney; four grandchildren, Derik Robert Bey, Cara Marie (Andrew) Sells, Adam Clinton (Samantha) Bey, Broc Heath Bey; two great-grandchildren, Isla Faye and Bruce Elliot Bey; one brother, Arnold Martin; and one sister, Darlene (Julian) Dean. She was preceded in death by siblings, Hubert Martin, Jr., Kenneth Martin, Viredia Mertz, Renetta Martin, and Jimmie Martin.
Drama was a founding member of Brooklyn Avenue Church of God, where she served as treasurer and song leader. From its establishment in 1965, she was a devoted servant of God and a steadfast prayer warrior, constantly going above and beyond to support her family, friends, and community.
Her first job as a teenager was at GC Murphy’s in downtown Sidney. Before retirement, she worked at Shelby Hills, El-Bee Shoes, and Big Lots. For many years, Drama and her mother sang at funerals throughout Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee. Alongside her husband and siblings, she shared the gospel through song, traveling to many churches, and having a radio broadcast on WMVR during the 70s and 80s.
Above all, Drama’s lifelong passion was serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and singing gospel songs, bringing faith and comfort to all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Arnold Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens.
