Douglas Lloyd Hilyard

DOUGLAS LLOYD HILYARD, 69, of Sidney, passed away at 3:25 A.M. Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Wilson Health. He was born on December 8, 1951 in Lima, Ohio, the son of the late Frederick Llyod Hilyard and Martha (Fanshier) Hilyard, who survives. 

Douglas is survived by his loving companion of more than 40 years, Patricia Goings, and their eight children, Amy (Charles) Binegar, Douglas Hilyard, Robert (Amy) Hilyard, Josh (Jennifer) Goings, Frederick (Crystal) Hilyard, Melanie Sims, Adam (Kelly) Hilyard, and Molly Hilyard; twenty-three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five siblings, Rhody (Amos) Peterson, Jay (Brenda) Hilyard, Wava Cotterman, John Hilyard and Ed Hilyard; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Goings; and two sisters, Marty Lou Hilyard and Kathleen Albertson.

Douglas was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. Douglas was on a bowling league most of his life and also enjoyed throwing horse shoes and fishing. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 2:30 P.M. in the Committal Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima, Ohio. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. The family will receive friends at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 4 to 6 P.M. and at the cemetery on Thursday from 2 P.M. until the time of service.
