Doris L. (Valentine) Dilbone

DORIS L. DILBONE, age 94 of Houston, passed away Friday, April 26, 2024, at 3:55 AM at Fair Haven Shelby County Home. She was born on July 31, 1929, in Champaign County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harry and Ethel (Calland) Valentine, and step-daughter of the late Chester Everingham. In November of 1949 she married William C. Dilbone who preceded her in death August 28, 2017.

She is survived by three children, Mrs. Kathy (Henry) Wurth of St. Marys, Keith W. (Stephanie) Dilbone of Tipp City, and John E. (Eileen) Dilbone of Lebanon, and two grandchildren, Reagan and Abigail Dilbone. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Charles Valentine.

Doris was an active member of Centerville United Methodist Church, and a member of the Genealogical Society. She was a very good cook and candy maker. She enjoyed time in the wooded outdoors, reading, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, and most of all, get togethers with her family and friends.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Fair Haven for their excellent care and compassion in Doris’ final days.

In keeping with Doris' wishes, her body will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
