Obituary

Donna M. Bollheimer, age 96, of Sidney, passed away on Saturday, August 12,

2023, at 7:55 AM, at Ohio Living Dorothy Love. She was born the daughter of

Raymond Schuler and Cleta (Mann/Kossel) Schuler on June 3, 1927, in

Wapakoneta, OH.

On June 13, 1959, Donna married Alvin Bollheimer. Donna is survived by her

loving family, husband, sons Aaron and David Bollheimer. She is also survived

by her siblings, Marilyn (Doug) Oakley, Wayne Kossel, Harold (Nancy) Kossel,

Gaylord (Marilyn) Kossel, her close cousin Gary Snider, and many nieces and

nephews.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Demetra (George)

Rinehart, Kate (John) Nischwitz, Charlie Kossel, and Marvin Kossel.

Donna was a life-long member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Clay Township

(Auglaize County).

Donna and Alvin spent most of their married lives in Hardin, Ohio, where Aaron

and David were raised. Donna and Alvin spent many hours tending garden.

Donna canned a lot of food, and shared the produce with many, some of whom

were their great Hardin neighbors. She was a good cook and enjoyed making

meals for others.

Donna was a graduate of Blume High School. She had various jobs in her life,

but found her calling as a cook for her neighborhood school, Hardin Elementary

School. She enjoyed her work and co-workers. Although students couldn’t

enjoy the same meals she made at home, she was proud to have helped feed

probably thousands of students over her career.

Donna’s other hobbies included sewing comforters/quilts and doing word

puzzles. Over the last few years, she also enjoyed Dave’s dog Snoop. From the

first day Snoop walked into the house and climbed on the recliner to sleep at

Donna’s feet, there was true connection.

After retirement, Donna and Alvin spent many hours helping others. Whether it

was cooking, cleaning, chores, or just visiting. She truly cared about others.

Much of her time was spent worrying about others, especially Alvin, Aaron, and

Dave. In hindsight, we realize that was her way of showing love to others.

Donna was a loving wife, mom, sister, neighbor, and friend. She was loved by

many and will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at 10:30 AM at St.
