DON RAY DAVIS, 93 of Sidney, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 1:15 PM at Wilson Health. He was born on August 31, 1932, in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Claude and Amanda (Keck) Davis. On April 10, 1955, he married his wife of over 57 years, Violet E. (Donahue) who preceded him in death February 2, 2013.
Don is survived by five daughters: Lola Davis of Sidney, Janice Billing of Covington, Donna Fair, Alane (Eric) Bertsch both of Sidney, and Shirley Davis of Pemberton, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Helen Chambers, and Goldie Reeves, and three brothers: Orville, Russell, and Charles Davis.
Don was a US Army Korean War Veteran serving his country from 1952 to 1954 and earning the rank of Corporal in the Army Core of Engineers. He was the Owner/Operator of Davis Brothers Trucking and worked in maintenance for Leaders Sportswear. He was a member of Sidney American Legion Post 217, and Teamsters.
Don was a loving husband, father, and grandfather always willing to help those in need. He loved spending time in the sun, soaking up the rays. The family would like to express a special thank you to Heartland Hospice for their care and compassion.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Kelly Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Shelby Memory Gardens in Sidney. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
