DIANE "DEE JANIS" JANISZEWSKI, 74, of Sidney passed away at 9:59 A.M. Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at her residence. She was born on June 2, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Walter and Miriam (Greist) Gibian. On October 17, 1987 she married Michael "Mike Janis" Janiszewski, who preceded her in death in 2019.
Dee is survived by four children, Christine (Dan) of Tallmage, OH, Kovacevic, Brian Pinkerton of Brookings, OR, Kathaleen (David) Deam of Sidney, and Diana (Andrea) Pinkerton Macchi of Vergiate, Italy; ten grandchildren; seven siblings, Jim Gibian, Donna Gibble, Mary Lou Walters, Patricia Roman, Peggy Hartmiller, Barb Michelich, all of Cleveland, and Pete Gibian of Wales. She was preceded in death by one sister, Eileen Gibian; and one brother, Richard Gibian.
Dee and her loving husband, Mike spent many years working together at zoos around the country where he was the director and she was the education coordinator. Together they enjoyed birdwatching and were very involved in the Audubon Society over the years. In their retirement years they enjoyed helping others by delivering for Meals On Wheels. Dee also spent many years as a volunteer doula for Good Samaritan Hospice in Roanoke, VA, a position she held until her own illness made her stop. She was the oldest of ten children, and a mother to four of her own children. Dee was a life-long "dog mom" to many Scottish Terriers, loved growing orchids, and volunteering.
Private services will be held on a later date at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to:
