DEBORAH "DEBBIE" L GIROD, 57 of Sidney, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 4:00 AM at her home. She was born on November 15, 1968, in Sidney, Ohio, the daughter of the late Wayne and Melba (Tidwell) Copeland.
On February 20, 2010 Debbie married Dan Girod who survives along with six children: Morgan (Nate Wheeler) Bergman, Derek (Trinity) Girod both of Piqua, Jessica (Scott) O’Donnell of Kettering, Brad (Heidi Bundy) Girod, Nate (Keely) Girod, Nick Girod all of Sidney, three siblings: Pam (Betty Swob) Clark of Tipp City, Kim (Mike Hidenlang) Lewis of Waynesville, and David Clark of Melbourne, FL, nine grandchildren: Catherine O’Donnell, Nate Wheeler, Kenslee Girod, Zoey Girod, Naiya Wheeler, Iver Girod, Naiseer Wheeler, Mayzie Girod, and Kennedy Girod, and special nephew, Phil Girod. She was preceded in death by brother, Scott Clark.
Debbie was a strong, courageous, caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time outdoors with her husband, Dan of 16 years. They would take walks with their K-9 companion, Teddy. They would watch the birds feed from the birdhouses and take drives to spot eagles nesting in the trees. She loved relaxing in her rocking chair on the porch as she made pictures out of the clouds. Even at night she would gaze at the stars.
Debbie’s favorite hobbies were collecting shells, drawing, and doing her diamond arts. On weekends she loved playing Euchre where she thought it was always her deal. She loved spending time with the six children and the nine grandchildren. She was so proud of each and everyone of them. You would often see one of the grandchildren and her taking a walk, baking cookies, playing games, and even shooting the basketball. The children and grandchildren always put a smile on her face.
Debbie was full of love and energy that always tried to put everyone else first. She will always be loved, never forgotten, and will be in our hearts and souls forever.
In keeping with Debbie’s wishes, she will be cremated and the family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
