David Bryan Proffitt

David Bryan “Dave” Proffitt, 61 of Sidney passed away at 6:20pm Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Miami Valley Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on December 10, 1963, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, the son of the late James Proffitt and Sandra (Calhoun) Proffitt.

On September 26, 1992, Dave married Carrie (Caygill) Proffitt who survives along with three children: Emilee (Ethan) Dyer, Cole Proffitt and Benjamin Proffitt; two grandchildren, Nolan Dyer and a granddaughter on the way; and his sister Tina (Robert) (Proffitt) Guldberg; along with many other loving relatives.

Dave retired in 2023 and was building his dream home on his farm in Cadiz, Kentucky. He enjoyed farming, hunting and being outdoors. Above all else, he adored being with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who have the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace in God’s Country.

A celebration of his life will take place after the New Year. Arrangements are in the care of Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home.
