Darlene Rae (Swiger) Olding

Darlene Rae Olding, 85, of Sidney, passed away at 3:25 P.M. Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Indian Lake Healthcare Center. She was born June 21, 1940, to the late Jerome and Gertrude (Wright) Swiger.

On October 3, 1959, Darlene married Donald Henry Olding, who preceded her in death on December 2, 1999. She is survived by her three children, Debra (Allen) Caudill of Sidney, Ohio, Melinda (Dennis) Carpenter of Rantoul, Illinois, and Theresa (Jeff Stephens) Souza of Mount Victory, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Bobbie Crumes, Jaydon Souza, Ryan Souza, Naythan Souza, Amanda Jester, Audrey Grunst, and Matthew Davis, Amie Swiger, Janet Swiger, Matthew Potter. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.

Darlene cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. She was a proud member of the AMVETS and the V.F.W. She loved her dogs, enjoyed dancing, and took every opportunity to soak up the Florida sunshine where she resided for 14 years. Among her favorite traditions were her annual trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City, which she always looked forward to.
